Mission Statement
At Ambimistic Counseling we are dedicated to supporting you in your journey to peace, clarity and emotional wellness. We aim to provide an emotional oasis, where you can slow down from the fast pace of everyday life. Through this process, we aim to help you discover ambimistic harmony.
What does it mean to be Ambimistic?
The concept of being ambimistic was coined by our founder, Theo Meyer to describe the emotions we experience when we are faced with moments of uncertainty in an unfolding future, but we remain open and ready to embracing the unknown. Ambimism is the intersection of optimism and pessimism. It is about learning to embrace the uncertainty and maintaining trust in ourselves, anchored by staying present with what currently is.
When we are pessimistic, our world view is tinted by despair, clouding hope for the future. In this state, we may be closed off to new paths forward, resulting in unnecessary depression, anxiety and suffering. When we are optimistic, we risk becoming overly hopeful, setting ourselves up for disappointment when our expectations are not met.
Developing an ambimistic world view helps us to build resiliency, in addition to living a life less burdened by the suffering caused by anxiety, depression and the adversities of life.
